Joseph Charles Kirkland, Sr.

ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mr. Joseph Charles Kirkland, Sr., age 59, died Thursday, August 29, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.  A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

      Mr. Kirkland was born October 22, 1953 in Fort Myers, FL, the son of Jasper and Minnie Kirkland.  He was a heavy equipment operator for 28 years at Mayport Naval Station in Florida.

     Mr. Kirkland is survived by his wife, Patsy Kirkland; two sons, Joseph Kirkland, II and wife Amanda of West Virginia, Eddie Strickland of Columbus, GA; two daughters, Heather Kirkland of Jacksonville, FL, Krystelle Wosyk and husband, Darian of Fort Hood, TX; three brothers, Jack Kirkland and wife Wendy of North Carolina, J. C. Kirkland and wife Sandy of Minnesota, and Jerry Kirkland of Green Cove Springs, FL.  Also surviving are ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.  Mr. Kirkland was preceded in death by his parents.
