MAUK, GA -- Mr. Lewis Emanuel “L. E.” Williams, 80, died Thursday, January 23, 2014, at his residence.
Graveside Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM on Saturday, January 25, 2014, at Pine Level Cemetery with Reverend Larry Stegall officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 24, 2014, from 6-8 PM at the residence of Ms. Patricia White, 2273 Hwy 90 West, Mauk, GA.
Mr. Williams was born January 22, 1934, in Taylor County, Georgia, to Jesse Lewis and Sadie Ruth Pike Williams. He was Baptist by faith. He was self-employed as a farmer and in construction and owned H & W Contracting. He had previously worked at Kings Construction and Brannon and Cummings. He was a member of the Georgia Cattleman’s Association. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nita Helen Williams, by a son, Maurice Jarrett and by two grandchildren, Jesse Gibson and Hope Jarrett.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Williams of Mauk, GA; by five daughters, Mary Ellen Stubbs of Mauk, GA, Patricia W. White of Mauk, GA, Betty (Becky) Blackston and Jack of Mauk, GA, Marie Marsh and Maverick of Mauk, GA, and Jay Jay Brown and Paul of Mauk, GA; by a brother-in-law, Maurice James Whitley, Jr. and Emmer of Mauk, GA; by a sister-in-law, Lola Ann Garcia of Florida. 18 Grandchildren and 25 Great-Grandchildren also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
Watson-Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia, is in charge of these arrangements.
