Mr. Jordan was born September 9, 1947, in Schley County, GA, to William Blanford and Elizabeth Dillard Jordan. He was educated in the Schley County school system, graduating with honors. He later graduated from Georgia Southwestern College with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and French. He taught chemistry at Schley County High School for one year, however; his love for farming alongside his father drew him to a career to steward and care for animals and crops as a lifelong farmer. In addition to caring for his farm and family, Mr. Jordan was a servant to his community, serving as a County Commissioner for 15 years. Mr. Jordan was a member of Ellaville Baptist Church where he served many years as a deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. He enjoyed singing in the choir throughout his life. One of his greatest joys was being a member of the Missionaires where he was able to minister to residents in nursing homes sharing his love of gospel music. He never met a stranger, making new friends in every avenue of life, and planting seeds for his Lord Jesus Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Eugene Jordan.
Mr. Jordan is survived by his wife of 49 years, Gloria Crozier Jordan of Ellaville, GA; a son, William Jordan of Ellaville, GA, two daughters, Natalie Walls of Lafayette, GA, and Catherine and David Benford of Ellaville, GA; and a grandson, Alexander Walls.
