ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mr. Larry Raybon, age 70, of Ellaville, died Thursday, March 9, 2017 doing what he loved, fishing. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in the chapel of Watson-Giddens Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Sims Jones will officiate. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM.
Mr. Raybon was born January 25, 1947 in Schley County, the son of the late James and Janey Irene Raybon. He was a chicken farmer working for Hayes Poultry. Mr. Raybon had previously been a truck driver. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and loved being around people. Mr. Raybon was a Mason and a Shriner and a past master of Washington Lodge #359. He attended Hopewell and Concord United Methodist Churches.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Hayes; one son, Jamey Raybon of Ellaville, two brothers, Wayne Raybon of Sierra Vista, AZ, Willie Raybon of Vienna, GA; one sister, Janey Nash of Americus, GA; one grandson, John Logan Raybon of Ellaville and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Raybon was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Raybon.
Pallbearers will include Bill Jackson, Sam Steele, Ricky Page, Guy Smith, Dwayne Blackston, Jesse Wilson, Jason Dobbs and Cody Dobbs. Honorary pallbearers will be the Masons and Shriners.
