Lewis Bray, Jr.

ELLAVILLE, GA— Mr. Lewis Monroe Bray Jr., 76, of Americus, GA died Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at his residence.  A graveside service will be held at Ebenezer Cemetery on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Mark Williams and Mr. Edgar Player officiating. 

     Mr. Bray was born October 3, 1942 in Sumter County to the late Lewis Monroe Bray Sr. and Jessie Mae Bray.  Mr. Bray was a certified GM mechanic. He had also served in the National Guard.  Mr. Bray loved to spend time with his grandchildren, enjoyed drinking coffee and watching westerns.  He was a member of Brooklyn Heights Baptist Church.

     Survivors include two daughters, Kim Welch and husband Calvin of Americus, Pam Albritton and husband Robbie of Ellaville; three sisters, Ivey Mae Giddens and husband Randall of Kathleen, GA, Opal Player and husband Edgar of Americus, GA, Bertha Buchannan and husband Robert of Plains, GA.   Also surviving are grandchildren, Robert Albritton, Jr., Lauran Sheffield and husband Michael, great grandchildren Elizabeth Carol Sheffield and Robert Dawson Sheffield.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Bray was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Bray.

     Visitation will be held Friday, July 26, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home.  The family will be meeting at the home of Robbie and Pam Albritton, 503 Brown Road East, Ellaville.
