Lola Ann Garcia

Ms. Lola Ann Whitley Garcia, 70, of Plains, GA, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017, at Lillian G. Carter Nursing Center in Plains, GA. 

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at Mauk Cemetery with Rev. Larry Steagall officiating. The family will greet friends at Watson-Tante Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00PM.

Ms. Garcia was born in Taylor County, GA, on July 1, 1947, to Maurice and Martha Lucille Wright Whitley. A member of Mauk Baptist Church, she enjoyed crocheting and loved fishing. She was the owner of Lola’s Restaurant.

She is survived by two sons, Timothy Griffin (Adam Pierson) of Columbus, GA, and Tracy Goodin (Patricia) of Mauk, GA; a daughter, Teressa Coleman of Plains, GA; a brother, Maurice James Whitley, Jr. (Emmer) of Mauk, GA; and a sister, Ruth E. Williams of Mauk, GA. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Watson-Tante Funeral Home, 1052 Dr. Deryl Hart Rd., Buena Vista, GA is in charge of arrangements.
