Lovie Jewel Hale

Mrs. Lovie Jewel Hale, 85, of Box Springs, GA, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021, at Piedmont Northside Hospital in Columbus, GA.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM on Monday, September 13, 2021, at Brown Springs Church of God with Rev. Jeff Johnson and Rev. Buddy Williams officiating. Burial will follow the service at Oakland Church of God Cemetery.  The family will greet friends at Brown Springs Church of God on Sunday, September 12, 2021, from 6:00-8:00PM.  Serving as pallbearers will be Jonathon Lewis, Caleb Lewis, Michael Mathis, Jr., David Cofield, Michael Robinson, and Jarrett Fuller. Due to Covid-19, face coverings are encouraged and please practice social distancing.

Mrs. Hale was born November 26, 1935, in Marion County, GA, to Mason and Ruth Isom Fuller. She was a member of Brown Springs Church of God and was a Godly woman who loved reading the bible. Mrs. Hale enjoyed fishing.  She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Earl Mathis and John Julian “Pedro” Hale, a son, Rocky Mathis, grandchildren, Faith and Nicholas Lewis, and her brothers, Hiram Fuller, Clinton Fuller, and Herman Fuller.

She is survived by three children, Anita Lewis of Mauk, GA, Michael Mathis, Sr. of Mauk, GA, and Angela Catrett of Box Springs, GA; by Grandchildren, Robby Lewis (Jennifer), Courtney Cofield (David), Michael Mathis, Jr., Haley Catrett (Michael Robinson) and Abby Catrett; Great-Grandchildren Jonathan Lewis (Brianna), Caleb and Cadie Lewis, Kagen Mathis, Mackenzie, Katalina, Kearstan, and Wyatt Catrett, Andralee and Jasmine Brantley, Taylor Montgomery, Emily Hurst, and a precious baby due in January: Whitley; and her siblings, Floyd Fuller of Mauk, GA, Carolyn Harrell of Mauk, GA, Betty Wimberly of Talbotton, GA, and Larry Fuller of Woodbury, GA
