A special gift was given to Ms. Charlene Stewart and Mr. Michael Cornelius Swan of Box Springs, Georgia on July 13, 2011 at 10:48am.
Makenlee Caden Swan was born in Northside Hospital in Atlanta and remained in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit where she spent her precious time on earth. She passed peacefully in the arms of her loving parents on November 25, 2011 at 7:35am.
A celebration of her life was held at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, November 28, 2011, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Buena Vista, Georgia. Pastor Larry Franklin officiated. Burial followed the service in the church cemetery.
During her four months, one week, and five days here on this Earth she touched many lives and was loved deeply by family, friends, and caregivers. Makenlee experienced being held by her mommy and daddy, prayed for by many, holding hands with her family, hugs and kisses from her family, listening as her mommy sang and read to her, and being told "I love you" an uncountable amount of times.
Makenlee leaves to cherish her loving memories to her loving mother, Charlene Stewart and caring father Michael Swan; two sisters Charity R. Grace and Mariah C. Swan; one brother Cortez R. Grace all of Marion County, Georgia; paternal grandparents Henry Jr. and Wendy Swan of Buena Vista, GA, maternal grandparents Joe and Lucille Pratt of Morven, North Carolina, and paternal grandmother Cherre Wilson of Buena Vista, Georgia; paternal great grandparents Phillip and Carrie Ruth Swan of Buena Vista, Georgia, paternal great grandparents William and Maxine Wilson of Richland, Georgia and paternal great grandmother Mary Wilson of Buena Vista, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Charles Thomas Allen.
Three uncles, Delwyn Swan of Buena Vista, Georgia, Eddie and Carol Steward of Marshville, North Carolina, Frankie and Sarah Stewart of Lilesville, North Carolina. Eight aunts, Lorraine Stewart-Ayers of Charlotte, North Carolina, Barbara Clarke of Wadesboro, North Carolina, Towanda Clarke of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Jolisa Stewart of Wadesboro, North Carolina, Monica Wilson, Michaela Slaughter, Whitney Swan all of Buena Vista Georgia and Heavenly Swan of Riverdale, Georgia; host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal aunt Ruby Jean Stewart.
Watson-Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia, was in charge of arrangements.
