Martha Sue Hale

Mrs. Martha Sue Hale, 65, of Buena Vista, GA, died Thursday, December 17, 2015, at St. Francis Hospital.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Oakland Church of God Cemetery with Rev. David Chapman and Rev. Gary Brady officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday, December 18, 2015, from 6:00 – 8:00pm.

Mrs. Hale was born in Seminole County, GA, on April 28, 1950, to James L. Widner and Evelyn Faircloth Widner McLendon.  She attended Oakland Church of God. Mrs. Hale was a Registered Nurse and had been employed as Director of Nursing at Marion Memorial Hospital and the Night Supervisor at St. Francis Bradley Center.  She was the most loving, kind and supportive person you would ever meet. Mrs. Hale was a devoted wife and mother, not only to her child but also to her nieces and nephews who she considered her children.  She never met a stranger and could always put a smile on your face even on your saddest day.  She was preceded in death by her parents, by her first husband James Tucker Hale, and a sister, Gloria Chapman.

She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Jeff Welch of Buena Vista, GA; by her son, Jamie Hale and his partner, Kelsey Anderson of Columbus, GA; by two brothers, Danny Widner (Judy) of Buena Vista, GA, and Kenneth Widner of Cochran, GA; by a sister, Shirle Scott of Buena Vista, GA; and by several nieces and nephews.
