Martha Youngblood

Mrs. Martha Murphy Youngblood, 73, of Box Springs, GA, passed away on Sunday January 24, 2021, at Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center in Americus, GA. A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 28, 2021, at Bethany Cemetery with Rev. Michael Toomey officiating.  Family and friends may visit with Mrs. Youngblood at Way-Watson Funeral Home in Buena Vista from 9:00AM - 5:00PM on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.  

Mrs. Youngblood was born on July 19, 1947.  She was a faithful pastor’s wife and member of Bethany Freewill Baptist Church where she and Pastor Ruble were always working together. She especially enjoyed the food ministries and jail ministry.  Mrs. Martha liked working in her shop and gardens and enjoyed reselling things.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ruble Youngblood, Sr. and a grandson, Steven Griffis.

Survivors include her son, Ruble L. Youngblood, Jr. and his wife, Kathy; her daughter, Anita Youngblood Wells and her husband, Keith; her grandchildren, Cody Youngblood, Dustin Youngblood, Tracy Taylor, Chad Peavy, Zachary Cooper, and Gage Griffis; and 14 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Sherry Starcher, Brenda Johnson, Donna Ford and Janice Mooney; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Way-Watson Funeral Home, 1052 Dr. Deryl Hart Road, Buena Vista, Georgia has been entrusted with these arrangements.
