Mary Ann Waters

Mrs. Mary Ann Waters, 67, of Buena Vista, GA, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2020, at Piedmont Northside Medical Center in Columbus, GA.  A graveside funeral service will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at Tazewell Cemetery with Rev. David Chapman officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Taylor Barrett, Chris Barrett, Tommy McAllister, Roger Sinyard, and Freddie Cooper. Friends are welcome to attend the service but must follow social distancing guidelines.

Mrs. Waters was born April 5, 1953, in Buena Vista, GA, to James Barrett and Hazel Caffee Hunley. She was retired from the Marion County Board of Education as the Office Manager at L. K. Moss Primary School. Mrs. Waters greatly enjoyed all her time spent working with the teachers and students over the years. She was an avid reader. Mrs. Waters was a member of First Baptist Church of Buena Vista and enjoyed working in the yard. She was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her husband, Ric Waters of Buena Vista, GA; her mother Hazel Hunley (Don) of Buena Vista, GA; two daughters, Kimberley Waters (Nick) of Melbourne Beach, FL, and Ashley Waters of Buena Vista, GA; two brothers, Richard Barrett (Beverly) and Johnny Barrett (Renee); two sisters, Judy Webb (Tommy) and Shirley Barrett all of Buena Vista, GA; three grandchildren, Taylor Sammons, Cole Sammons, and Amelia Waters. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
