Mary H. Dillard

ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mrs. Mary Holloway Dillard, age 80, of Ellaville, GA died Monday evening, January 18, 2010 at Montezuma Health Care Center in Montezuma, GA. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Watson-Giddens Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Ellaville Cemetery. Rev. Brooks Partain and Rev. Peter Vermeulen will officiate.
Mrs. Dillard was born September 14, 1929 in Macon County, GA, the daughter of Ernest and Carrie Holloway. She was a graduate of Oglethorpe High School and the Georgia Baptist School of Nursing. Mrs. Dillard worked 20 years at Sumter Regional Hospital and 13 years at Magnolia Manor. She was a member of Concord United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Dillard was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus Dillard. Survivors include two daughters, Kay Mooney and husband Neal of Ellaville, Jan Johnson and husband Pete of Cuthbert, GA; three sons, Mark Dillard and wife Linda of Fortson, GA, Brian Dillard and wife Starlit of Ellaville, Dan Dillard and wife Julie of Belton, SC; nieces, Kathy Basse, Kam Boone, nephew, Jimmy Holloway and several other nieces and nephews. Also surviving are nineteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her brother, James Holloway and his wife Vera.
Pallbearers will include Jody Dillard, Tom Boone, Kenneth Phillips, Keith Phillips, Kevin Snipes and Alan Snipes. The family will be gathering at the home of Kay and Neal Mooney, 3849 St. Rt. 228, Ellaville. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2009 from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home.
