Mary Helen Barwick

ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mrs. Mary Helen Barwick, age 93, of Ellaville, GA died Wednesday, September 30, 2008 at Magnolia Manor of Marion County in Buena Vista, GA. Funeral services will be held Friday, 11:00 AM, October 3, 2008 Concord United Methodist Church in Schley County with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Reverend Graton Helms will officiate.

Mrs. Barwick was born March 16, 1915 in Schley County, the daughter of Sophie Leila Bridges and John Robert Bridges Sr. She was retired from Manhattan Shirt Factory after 30 years. Mrs. Barwick was a member of Concord United Methodist Church and the Schley Ones. Mrs. Barwick was preceded in death by her husband, Willie David Barwick; one son, Lindsey Barwick; and one son-in-law, Nelson DeVane.

Survivors include one daughter, Carol Sue DeVane of Ellaville; one son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Elaine Barwick of Ellaville; and one daughter-in-law, Betty Barwick of Buena Vista, GA; five grandchildren, Pam and husband Douglas Jamieson, Tonya and husband Keith Drinkwater, Christy and husband Carl Carcaba, David and wife Angie Barwick, Julie and husband Chris Davis. Nine great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, three nieces and one nephew also survive.

Pallbearers include Jody Isom, Aaron Phillips, Kenneth Phillips, Mathew Montgomery, Carl Carcaba and Drane Cooper. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Concord United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening, October 2 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home in Ellaville.
