Matthew Allen Montgomery

Mr. Matthew “Matt” Allen Montgomery, 35, of Buena Vista, passed away unexpectedly on December 19, 2022.  Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 2:00 PM in Tazewell Cemetery with Rev. David Chapman officiating.  The family will greet friends at their residence, 69 Ronnie Road, Buena Vista, GA beginning at 12:00PM until 1:30PM. 

Matt was born December 19, 1987 in Americus, GA to Johnny Montgomery and Julie Barwick Davis.  He was a graduate of South Georgia Technical College with a degree in Diesel Mechanics. Matt was currently working with Finnicum Motor Company in Leesburg as a mechanic.  He was a fun, loving, free spirit and was a joy to be around.  Matt was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Allen Barwick.

Survivors include his mother and step father, Julie and Chris Davis of Buena Vista, GA; his father, Johnny Montgomery, of Panama City, FL; a son, Adrian Montgomery of Buena Vista, GA a brother, Devin Montgomery of Ellaville GA; a sister and brother-in-law, Christina and Luke Moore of Americus, GA; uncle and aunt, David and Angie Barwick of Macon, GA; cousins, Ashley Barwick, Ben Barwick, Landon Barwick and Brayden Pinholster; his grandmother, Elaine Barwick of Ellaville, GA; and two great-aunts, Deena Grimsley and Carol Sue DeVane.
