Mildred Ross Byrd

       ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mrs. Mildred Ross Byrd, age 77, of Ellaville, GA, died Friday, October 24, 2014 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center.  Funeral services will be held graveside at 11:00 AM Monday, October 27, 2014 in the Ellaville Cemetery.  Rev. Tommy McConnell will officiate. 

     Mrs. Byrd was born February 4, 1937 in Americus, GA the daughter of Felton and Eva Mae Ross.  She was a homemaker who loved spending time with family and watching her babies grow.  Mrs. Byrd was a loving mother and grandmother.  She was of the Methodist faith.

     Mrs. Byrd is survived by one daughter, Connie Toms and husband Bob of Ellaville; one brother, Charles Ross of Morgan, GA; and one sister, Eva Mae Ross of Sylacauga, AL. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Bobby Toms and wife Kristy of Ellaville, Sandy McClung and husband Matt of Preston; two great grandchildren, Christian Toms and Jase McClung. 

      Visitation will be held Sunday, October 26, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home in Ellaville.  In lieu of flowers the family asks memorial contributions be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Attn: Donor Services, P. O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX  75265-0309.
