Naomi Vickery Leverett, 82, of Box Springs, GA, went into her saviour's loving arms Monday, December 12, 2011, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 15, 2011, at Oakland Baptist Church with Reverend Brian Fuller officiating. Burial will follow at Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, GA. Music will be provided by April Fuller, Sheila McCrady, Silas Fuller, David Cooper and Donnie Kent. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM. Serving as pallbearers will be Bert Veal, Donnie Watson, Tom Wyrick, Kenneth Grimsley, Billy Joe Waller and Michael Cook. Honorary pallbearers are Jack Brinkley and Billy Clemons.
Mrs. Leverett was born May 3, 1929, in Cuthbert, GA, to John Wilburn and Jensie Olena Everett Vickery. She was Baptist by faith and a member of Oakland Baptist Church. She was employed as a hospital nursing aid in Ft. Benning and was also a homemaker. Coming from Columbus, GA, she had been living in Box Springs for the past 17 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morgan Judson Leverett and a son, Morgan John Leverett.
She is survived by three daughters, Theresa Leverett McGarity and Martha E. Leverett, both of Box Springs, GA, and by Ann Leverett McCrady (Dennis) of Columbus, GA; by a brother, Sim Vickery (Donna) of Florida and by 7 Grandchildren, Alicia Robeson (Jasen), Jonathan Leverett (Stacy), Elizabeth Summit (Rick), Jacquelen Kelley (Eddie), Heather McCrady, Christopher McCrady (Crystal), and Ashley Leverett. 8 Great-Grandchildren also survive.
Watson-Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia, is in charge of these arrangements.
