Nettie Eason

ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mrs. Nettie Eubanks Eason, age 99, of Ellaville, GA died Tuesday morning, May 22, 2012 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center in Americus, GA. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 1:00PM in the chapel of Watson-Giddens Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Ellaville Cemetery. Chaplin Will Archibald and Dr. Ben Foxworth will officiate.

Mrs. Eason was born December 23, 1912 in Schley County, GA, the daughter of Dora Teele Eubanks and Newton Dempsey Eubanks. She had lived in Schley County all her life and had worked at Manhattan Shirt Factory. Mrs. Eason was a member of Ellaville Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Dora Battle and husband Gordon of Ellaville, Elaine Kisor and husband John of Ellaville, Nettie Perry and husband Lamar of Athens, GA. Also surviving are seventeen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Eason was preceded in death by her husband, J. S. Eason and two sons, Ronald D. Spears and Wayne Spears.

Pallbearers will include Rodney Halstead, Mark Halstead, Paul Battle, Johnny Battle, Jack Culpepper, and Michael Battle. Honorary pallbearers will include Phil Morris, Gray Salmon, Steven Beck and the Lydia Sunday School class of Ellaville Baptist Church. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home.
