Nicky Alan Hortman

Mr. Nicky Alan Hortman, 62, of Oglethorpe, passed away after an extended illness on September 3, 2024. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Still Water Chapel, 3550 GA Highway 240, Ideal, GA at 11:00AM with Rev. Roy Peterson officiating. Burial will follow the service in Oglethorpe City Cemetery. The family will greet friends beginning in the church at 10:00AM until service time. Pallbearers will be Mitchell Spradley, Bubba Bodrey, Brandon James, Reuben Weaver, Michael Cox, and Larry Middlebrooks. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Mathews, Lance Reagan, Steven Green, Tim Cromer, Scott Simmons, Ryan McKenzie and Tommy Avery.

Nicky was also an exceptional baseball player during his younger years, and later, enjoyed his time as a coach for Macon County Recreational Baseball. He was a devoted Georgia sports enthusiast, a loyal NASCAR fan and an avid hunter and fisherman. He found great joy in sharing laughter and cherished the time spent with his friends and family, especially his adored grandchildren.
