Patricia Ellison Layfield

Mrs. Patricia Ellison Layfield, 73, of Montezuma, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2017.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, GA with Rev. Charles Chapman officiating.  The family will greet friends beginning at 9:30 AM until service time. Burial will follow in Bertha Dozier Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Robert Singletary, Brian Layfield, Kevin Layfield, Chris Parramore, Shan Ponder and Corey Singletary.

Mrs. Layfield was born October 18, 1943 in Montezuma, GA to the late John Claude and Annie Viola Shelton Ellison.  She was a member of Cedar Valley Baptist Church.  Mrs. Layfield loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed fishing and sewing.  Mrs. Layfield was preceded in death by her husband, Edmon Layfield; four brothers, Claude Ellison, Jr., J.S. Ellison, Leroy Ellison and William “Bill” Ellison; two sisters, Frances Stafford, Annette Hudson; and a granddaughter, Beverly Ann Singletary.

Survivors include her children, Shelby Parramore and her husband, Chris of Thomasville, GA and Eddie Layfield and his wife, Melissa of Oglethorpe, GA; Grandchildren, Brian Layfield and wife, Molly, Kevin Layfield, Robert Singletary and wife, LaShae,  Christy Ponder and husband, Shan, Courtney Beard and Cameron Camp, Jessica Parramore; thirteen great-grandchildren, Aaron Rover, Jacob Singletary, Corey Singletary, Connor Singletary, Caden Singletary, Cruz Layfield, Weston Layfield and Kynlee Layfield, Dayleigh Beard, Travis Camp, Meredith Wilson, Noah Wilson, and Will Wilson;  a sister, Myrtle Brown of Columbus, GA; brother-in-law, Wayne and Bonnie Layfield of Ellaville; sisters-in-law, Pearl and Warren Grimsley of Ellaville and Faye and Charles Chapman of LaGrange, GA;
