Peggy O'Neal Sawyer

Peggy O’Neal Bullard Sawyer, 75, of Cusseta, GA, died Monday, December 9, 2013, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, December 12, 2013, at Bethany Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend Rubel Youngblood officiating. Burial will follow the service at Ft. Benning.  Serving as pallbearers will be Kelley McAllister, Allen Gray, Vincent Dent, Samuel Bearden, Thomas Sawyer, and Joseph Sawyer. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, from 6:00-8:00PM.

Ms. Sawyer was born July 8, 1938, in Columbus, GA, to Thomas O’Neal and John Lois Dozier Bullard. She was a member of Bethany Freewill Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Sawyer and her daughter, Vickie Ivey.

She is survived by a son, Walter Sawyer of Cusseta, GA; by three daughters, Teresa and Kelley McAllister of Buena Vista, GA, Melissa and Allen Gray of Columbus, GA, and Donna Tanner of Cocoa Beach FL; by a brother, Hugh and Tracy Bullard of Columbus, GA, and a sister, Fannie Lois Hack of Cusseta, GA. 10 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren also survive.

Watson-Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia, is in charge of these arrangements.
