Peggy J. Usry

ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mrs. Peggy J. Usry, age 76, of 1477 Green Road, Ellaville, GA died Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center in Americus, GA. Funeral Services will be held graveside at 11:00 AM Monday, April 9, 2012 in the Ellaville Cemetery. Reverend Peter Vermeulen will officiate.

Mrs. Usry was born March 12, 1936 in Schley County, GA, the daughter of Clint and Alene Poole Short. She graduated from Ellaville High School and earned her Registered Nursing degree at Piedmont Nursing School in Atlanta, GA and later worked at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta and Sumter Regional Hospital in Americus. Mrs. Usry was a member of Concord United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxillary. She enjoyed fishing and playing golf. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Usry was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Short.

Survivors include her husband, Eugene Usry of Ellaville, GA; one son and daughter in law, Michael Eugene Usry (Bobbie Kaye) of Brandon, FL. Two grandchildren, Erica Usry and Alex Michael Usry also survive.

Visitation will be held Sunday evening, April 8, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home in Ellaville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Concord United Methodist Church, P O Box 917, Ellaville, GA 31806..
