Penny Wiggins

Ms. Penny Wiggins, 60, of Buena Vista, GA, passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021, at Willson Hospice House in Albany, GA.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Raymond Smith officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Trey Jones, Terry Roberts, Jason Studdard, Skyler Shropshire, Harley Lambert, and Bill Brooks. Family and friends may visit with Ms. Wiggins at Way-Watson Funeral Home in Buena Vista from 10:00AM - 5:00PM on Monday, March 22, 2021. Due to Covid-19, face coverings are strongly encouraged and please practice social distancing.

Ms. Wiggins was born June 10, 1960, to James A. and Mary D. Wiggins. Baptist by faith, she was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Ms. Wiggins loved to spend time with all of her family, especially her grandchildren.  She enjoyed baking with the grandchildren and feeding and watching the hummingbirds.  Ms. Wiggins had a green thumb and liked growing flowers and plants. She loved arts and crafts and was excited when she could go to the Senior Center for those activities.  Her nickname was “Rose” and was given to her by her father.  Ms. Wiggins collected salt and pepper shakers for a number of years. She was very friendly and knew everybody.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Lester Wiggins.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Adam and Michelle Wiggins of Buena Vista, GA; by a daughter and son-in-law, Amity and Chris Scott of Buena Vista, GA; by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jimmy Wiggins of Buena Vista, GA, and Bobby and Cathy Wiggins of Buena Vista, GA; four grandchildren, Dylan Scott and Hailey Dunford, Ashley Scott, Cheyenne Wiggins, and Ariel Wiggins; her God-granddaughter, Cambry Jackson; and good friend Steven Reeves. Several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.

Way-Watson Funeral Home, 1052 Dr. Deryl Hart Road, Buena Vista, Georgia has been entrusted with these arrangements.
