Mrs. Regina May Lax Carnley, 76, of Columbus, GA, died Sunday, October 19, 2014, at her residence. An outdoor homegoing celebration will be held at 11:00am CST on Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at Peaceful Acres Cemetery in Opp, Alabama. Reverend Wayne Russell will officiate the service. The family will receive friends at 12:00pm at Southside Baptist Church in Opp, Alabama.
Mrs. Carnley was born May 1, 1938, in Hazel, KY, to Thomas Bond and Juanita Dunn Lax. She attended Ino Baptist Church and had been employed as a spinner at Opp-Micolis Cotton Mill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Franklin Carnley and by a sister, Peggy Lax White.
She is survived by three daughters, Susan Carnley Rogers and husband Chris of Buena Vista, GA, Shannon Carnley Hillier and husband Don of Tulsa, OK, and Sherry Carnley Bozack and husband Mike of Auburn, AL; a sister, Carolyn Albritten and husband Ronald of Murray, KY; by three grandchildren, Sarah Hillier, Jordan Reyes, and Hope Rogers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Watson-Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia, is in charge of these arrangements.
