Richard Grady Halstead

ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mr. Richard Grady Halstead, age 64, of Ellaville, died Tuesday evening, September 21, 2010 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, September 24, 2010 in the chapel of Watson-Giddens Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Ellaville Cemetery. Rev. Will Archibald and Rev. James Thomas will officiate.
Mr. Halstead was born September 6, 1946 in Schley County, GA, the son of Fannie and Charlie E. Halstead. He was a truck driver for J & M Trucking for 20 years and served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Halstead is survived by his wife, June Jordan Halstead; two daughters, Teresa Nunez and husband Eric, Tracy Nunez and husband Antonio; one son, Richard Anthony Halstead all of Ellaville; two brothers, Rayford Halstead and wife Candy of Oglethorpe, GA, Raymond Halstead and wife Melody of Plains, GA; two sisters, Rosemary Cope and husband Craig of Ellaville, Rachel Ruhland of Plains, GA; and one sister in law, Brenda Halstead of Americus, GA. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Halstead was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Halstead.
Pallbearers will include Rodney Halstead, Shawn Corbett, Thomas Stewart, Kenneth Jordan, Lance Jordan, and Ben Wiggins. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of J & M Trucking.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 23, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home in Ellaville, GA.
