Richard Nelson Tondee

ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mr. Richard Nelson Tondee, 57, of Ellaville, GA, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021, at Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center in Americus, GA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, November10, 2021, at Shema Baptist Church with Bro. Troy Fripp officiating. Burial will follow the service in Ellaville City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Tondee, Bob Tondee, Trevor Tondee, Walter Tondee, Michael Hernandez, and Benjamin Goodin. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Tondee was born in Americus, Ga, on January 8, 1964, to Robert Nelson and Sara Ward Tondee. He had been employed with Greenfield Metal Products and Goodin Farms. Mr. Tondee liked tinkering with his hands and enjoyed carpentry and mechanic work. He was a member of Shema Baptist Church. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lisa Jane Childs Tondee and his sister, Sara Elizabeth Tondee Potter.

He is survived by his mother, Sara Ward Tondee of Ellaville, GA; by four children, Terry Tondee, Bob Tondee, Nia Tondee, and Daniel Tondee (Jenna); by a brother and sister-in-law, Donnie and Kathy Tondee; by a sister and brother-in-law, Judi and Randy Weathersby; by a devoted friend, Benjamin Goodin; and by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
