ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mr. Richard Wayne Williams, Sr. age 56, of Oglethorpe, GA died Wednesday, April 15, 2009. Funeral Services will be held in the chapel of Watson-Giddens Funeral Home, 3:00 PM, Sunday, April 19, 2009 with burial to follow in the Ellaville Cemetery. Bro. Troy Fripp and Bro. Lucky Barfield will officiate.
Mr. Williams was born April 23, 1952 in Wilcox County, GA, the son of Marie Hart Williams and the late Richard Weekly Williams. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was a welder by trade. Mr. Williams was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Betty Albritton Williams, one daughter and son in law, Cynthia Lamb and husband Ray of Crawfordville, FL; four sons and daughters in law, Troy Yarbrough and wife Christy of Ellaville, Greg Williams and wife Brandy of Oglethorpe, GA, Richard Wayne Williams, Jr. of Oglethorpe, GA, Jimmy Williams of Oglethorpe, GA; one brother Jack Williams of Alabama, two sisters and brother in laws, Peggy Harnage and husband Carol of Americus, GA, Arlene Whitehead and husband David of Alabama. Fifteen grandchildren, Travis Lamb, Tiffany Lamb, Nikki Lamb, Adam Lamb, Destiny Lamb, Clint Yarbrough, Shan Yarbrough, Dusty Yarbrough, Ferren Cromer, Ashley Cromer, Jacob Cromer, Devin Williams, Landon Williams, Bennett Williams, Sara Williams and four great grandchildren, Paige Lamb, Courtney Lamb, Addison Yarbrough and Brennon Yarbrough also survive.
Active pallbearers will be Ray Lamb, Travis Lamb, Adam Lamb, Clint Yarbrough, Rocky Thompson, Rafael Williams, Gene Towns, and Ferren Cromer.
Watson-Giddens Funeral Home of Ellaville, GA is in charge of arrangements.
