Ricky Powell

Ricky Carrol Powell, 58, of Buena Vista, GA, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at his residence.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 6, 2012, at Union United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-8 pm.

Mr. Powell was born June 4, 1953, to Roy Alton (Tom) Powell and Mina Mytle Davis Powell. Ricky was born and died within 100 yards of his home place. He loved to work on cars and all equipment and most any appliance. He was Baptist by faith and a lifelong resident of Marion County. He had been employed by Ford Auto Dealers in auto parts sales. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Smith, and by his brother and sister-in-law, Clements and Weone Powell.

He is survived by two brothers, Stout and Barbara Powell of Americus, GA, and Donnie and Delores Powell of Warner Robins, GA; by a sister, Joyce Henson of Buena Vista,GA; by a brother-in-law, William S. Smith of Atlanta, GA; and by several Nieces and Nephews.

Watson-Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia, was in charge of these arrangements.
