Robert James Rainey

     ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mr. Robert James Rainey, age 80 of Ellaville, GA, died Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, GA. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 in the Ellaville Cemetery.  Rev. Bryan Bentley will officiate.

      Mr. Rainey was born January 21, 1933 in Wilkinsburg, PA and was the son of Robert Rainey, Sr. and Edith Frye Rainey. He was retired from the U. S. Army where is served as a meteorologist during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War.  Mr. Rainey was a member of the VFW and The First Presbyterian Church in Irwin, PA.

    Mr. Rainey is survived by two sons, Tim Jordan and wife Marsha of North Carolina, Loyce Jordan and wife Sue of De Land, FL; four daughters, Petra Jones and husband Alan of Box Springs, GA, June Halstead of Ellaville, GA, Sandra Jordan of Ellaville, GA, and Lorrie Jagasia of Ellaville, GA.  Also surviving are twenty grandchildren, forty five great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.  Mr. Rainey was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Rainey, son, Troy Jordan, Jr. and daughter, Alma Cato.

      Pallbearers will include Jonathan Nunez, Antonio Nunez, Tony Halstead, Robert Lance Jordan, Mike Jordan, Kenneth Jordan, and Marco Nunez.

     Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Tuesday, May 21, 2013 from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home in Ellaville.
