Sally Ruth Welch

Ms. Sally Ruth Welch, age 76, of Buena Vista, Georgia, died Thursday, July 10, 2014, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, July 12, 2014, in the Chapel of Watson-Tante Funeral Home with Reverend Raymond Smith and Reverend Ben Foxworth officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00-2:00PM.

Ms. Welch was born September 19, 1937, in Chattahoochee County, Georgia, to Corrie Lee and Verna Taylor Thompson. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.  She was a homemaker and a devoted mother. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Arthur Welch, a son, Tommy Welch, a grandson, Jimmy Byrd, Jr., and a brother John David Thompson.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Clarence and Melba Welch of Ellaville, GA; Linton and Carolyn Welch and Robbie and Bobbie Welch, all of Americus, GA; by a daughter and son-in-law, Arlene and Jimmy Byrd of Buena Vista, GA; by a sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Joe Webb of Americus, GA; by eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 687 Hwy 30E, Buena Vista, Georgia 31803.
