Sandra B. Grant

       ELLAVILLE, GA --- Ms. Sandra "Sallie Mae" Barwick Grant, age 70, of Ellaville, GA died Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center.  Graveside services will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Sand Bethel Cemetery in Rupert, GA.  Rev. Dean Long will officiate. 

     Ms. Sandra Grant was born August 15, 1943 in Rupert, GA the daughter of Dorsey Barwick and Inez Hill Bell.  She had worked at the Schley Senior Center.  Ms. Grant attended Shiloh Baptist Church. She loved to read and spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

     In addition to her mother, Ms. Grant is survived by one daughter, Gina Bailey and husband Joey of Ellaville; one son, Todd Carpenter and wife Linda of Ellaville; six grandchildren, Tabitha Harbuck and husband Brandon, Patrick Bailey and wife Kerri, Melinda Eastes, Johnathan Murphy and James Murphy. Also surviving are four great grandchildren, Charlie Harbuck, Tanner Harbuck, Kamryn Bailey, and Jackson Bailey.   Ms. Grant was preceded in death by her father, Dorsey Barwick, brother, Hugh Barwick and stepfather, Marvin ”Big Daddy” Bell.

     Honorary pallbearers will include James Murphy, Johnathan Murphy, Tony Harbuck,Fred Rockenhaus and Eddie Cole Baisden.   

     Visitation will be held Saturday, March 8, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home in Ellaville.
