Sarah Cathren Bush

            MRS. SARAH CATHREN GILLIS BUSH, age 97, of Eastman, GA, died Thursday, October 25, 2012, in Heart of Georgia Nursing Home.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Chris Dotson and Dr. Jerry Peele officiating, with interment in Rentz City Cemetery, Rentz, GA.

            Mrs. Bush was the oldest member of Grace Baptist Church, a former CNA at Heart of Georgia Nursing Home, a homemaker who loved quilting, reading & working in her flower garden. She was the daughter of the late Nettie Erlene Massey Gillis & Elza David Gillis and widow of Cecil Quinton Bush.  She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Bush Carroll, two sons, James Quinton “Jimmy” Bush and Hugh William Bush, a granddaughter, Sandra Carroll Dukes and a great-grandson, Robbie Robson.

            Survivors include one daughter, Virginia B. Watson (Russell), one daughter-in-law, Joyce Bush; and two brothers, Colson Gillis and Fredrick Gillis.   Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Randy Carroll, Lynn Dixon (Simbo), Cathy Williams (Travis), Quint Bush, Amanda Bush, Sarah Carroll Bush, Eddie Watson (Sharon) and Elaine Watkins (Mike);  fifteen great-grandchildren;  several great-great-grandchildren and  several nieces and nephews.

            The family may be contacted at the Watson residence, 844 5^th Avenue, Eastman, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 1:00PM-2:00PM Saturday, October 27, 2012.

            In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Grace Baptist Church, P. O. Box 811, Eastman, GA  31023.

            Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home of Eastman and Watson-Giddens Funeral Home of Ellaville have charge of arrangements.
