SGT Jonathan Aubrey Battle

SGT Jonathan Aubrey Battle, 22, of Ft. Gordon, GA passed away on May 5, 2021.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, May 17, 2021 at Life Point Church, 384 Hwy 30 W, Americus, GA 31719 with Rev. Bud Womack and Rev. Brad Gleeson officiating.  The family will greet friends at the Life Point Church from 9:30AM until service time.  Pallbearers will be Michael Battle, Brian Forsyth, Jeff Schlagel, Wayne Schlagel, Joshua Beck, Jonathan Espy, Jarod Espy, and Gray Salmon.

Jonathan was born January 21, 1999 in Phenix City, AL.  He was a devoted member of Life Point Church, where he was very active in Young Adults and the praise & worship band. He graduated from Schley County High School in 2017 and upon graduation enlisted in the U.S. Army and served with pride.  He was posthumously awarded the rank of SGT. Jonathan had a love for music and enjoyed playing bass guitar.  He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Gordon Battle.

Survivors include his parents, Paul and Glenna Battle of Ellaville, GA, and Diana and Anthony Edens of Ft. Levenworth, KS;  his siblings, Jeremy Battle, Alexander Edens, and Emily Edens; grandparents, Dora Battle, Janet and Tim Kiser, Susan Tucker, and Danny Swartz; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
