Shannon King Johnston

Mrs. Shannon King Johnston, 49, of Webster County passed away at her residence after a courageous battle against cancer. The family will greet friends at Way-Watson Funeral Home in Buena Vista on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Weston Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Wallace Willis officiating.

Shannon was born February 20, 1972 in Americus, GA to Gary and Blanche McGlaun King. She worked with Phoebe-Sumter Cardiology as an LPN and was dedicated to her work and taking care of others. Shannon was just as compassionate about animals as she was people and will leave behind her beloved dogs. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, James Y. Johnston, Jr. of Webster County; her parents, Gary and Blanche McGlaun King of Webster County; a sister, Leigh Lovelett of Columbus, GA; her niece, Rachel Lovelett of Columbus, GA; a sister-in-law, Susan J. Norton and her husband, Donnie of Lee County, GA; a nephew, Eli Ross Norton, also of Lee County, GA; parents-in-law, Jim and Linda Johnston of Richland, GA; and several other extended family and friends.
