Shelby Steed

Mr. Shelby Steed, 55, died on Saturday July 14, 2012, at Vista Care at Franciscan Woods in Columbus, GA.

Graveside services will be held Monday, July 16, 2012, at 11:00 at New Life Baptist Church Cemetery in Mauk, Ga. with Rev. Richard Kelly officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, July 15, 2012, from 2-4 p.m.

Mr. Steed was born August 27, 1956, the son of the late Leonard Robert and Margaret Eunice Snell Steed. He worked in construction and the textile industry. In addition to his parents, Mr. Steed was preceded in death by a son, Shelby Eugene Steed, Jr.

He is survived by one daughter, Melissa McDaniel of Thomaston, GA, one sister and brother in law, Margaret and Joseph Brown of Columbus, GA, two brothers and one sister-in-law, Clarence Edwin Holley of Houston, TX and Ray and Diane Holley of Thomaston, GA, and one grandchild, Marissa McDaniel.

Watson-Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia, is in charge of these arrangements.
