Mrs. Shirley McLendon Poole was born on March 20, 1957 went home to be with her Savior on March 16, 2020 at Medical Center Navicent Health in Macon, Georgia.  Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 11:00 AM at County Line Baptist Church Cemetery in Macon County, with the Rev. Johnny Brooks officiating. The family will receive guests at their residence, 300 Baker St., Oglethorpe, GA 31068 all day Wednesday, March 18, 2020.

     Miss Shirley, as she was known to all, is rejoicing in Heaven with her parents, Alvin and Betty McLendon, and holding her baby girl Carrie Michael Poole.

     Miss Shirley was the walking embodiment of love, she never met a stranger, and she loved everyone she ever met.  She touched many lives in her long career as a hair dresser, and held many conversations and therapy sessions in her beauty shop and on her front porch.  Shirley was loved by so many and made friends everywhere she went. Shirley was a devout Christian and member of County Line Baptist Church in Macon County.

     Miss Shirley leaves behind her husband of 43 years, Brother Mark H. Poole of Oglethorpe. Her children, Nigel and Lezlie Poole, Brittney and Scott Giles, her brother, Gary McLendon  and her favorite people in the world, her grandboys, Jasper Poole, Oren Giles, Emory Poole, and Ezra Giles and faithful companion, Stanley.

     In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to County Line Baptist Church Building Fund, 7611 GA Hwy 240, Ellaville, GA 31068.

     The family understands that due to the current pandemic situation any decisions you make in regards to attendance.  Miss Shirley would understand and she and the family knew you loved her and would want you to know she loved you too.
