Shirley Ann Halstead Watson

Ms. Shirley Ann Halstead Watson, 80, of Ellaville, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Way-Watson Funeral Home in Ellaville with Rev. Larry DeLoach officiating. The family will greet friends beginning at 1:00 until service time. 

Ms. Watson was born February 19, 1944 in Ellaville to Grady Buster Halstead and Christine Nowell Eubanks. She was well known in the area for her cleaning services and she enjoyed doing it. Ms. Watson would help anybody if she were able and would always put others first. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ron Owens and a brother, Joe Halstead.

Survivors include her two sons, Rick Owens of Phenix City, AL and Ellis Van Dyke and his wife, Tammy of Ellaville; a sister, Doreen Halstead; four grandchildren, Brandon Owens (Marie), Bruce Owens, Nichole Avery (Dwayne) and Ellis Van Dyke, Jr.; and several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
