Shirley Anne Tidd Wells

Mrs. Shirley Anne (Tidd) Wells, 86, formerly of Americus, GA, died Friday morning, April 4, 2025, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus. Shirley was a resident at Miona Nursing Home in Ideal, GA, where she thrived and was loved dearly. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, April 6, 2025, at Tazewell Cemetery with Rev. Joel Smith officiating the service.

Mrs. Wells was born September 4, 1938, in Americus, GA, to Henry Irvin Tidd and Thelma Louise Dillard Tidd. Shirley was always happy, loving, and caring. She was known for her fondness for her many tubes of lipstick and packs of chewing gum. Shirley always had a sweet smile for everyone. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wells was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Felton (Bobby) Wells, her sisters, Venida Layfield and Marilyn Overby, and her brothers, Tony Tidd and Joe Tidd.

Survivors include her son, Robert Steven Wells of Ideal, GA; two brothers, Henry Tidd and wife, Debbie of Wetumpka, AL, and Bruce Tidd and wife, Frances of Miami, FL; one sister, Emily Chavers of Americus, GA; and her sister-in-law, Louise Tidd of Ellaville, GA.

In place of flowers, donations may be made to the Miona Nursing Home, 201 Poplar St., Ideal, GA 31041, in memory of Mrs. Shirley Wells.
