AMERICUS , GA --- Mrs. Sue Summerlin Bivins, age 70, of Americus , GA died Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center in Americus , GA. Graveside services will be held Tuesday Aug 3, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Americus , GA with Rev. Bill Harris officiating.

Mrs. Bivins was born April 11, 1940 in Carrollton , GA , the daughter of Addie Rene Kitchens Jones and Walter Jones. Mrs. Bivins was a licensed real estate broker and appraiser and a member of the Board of Realtors where she served as past president. She had owned and operated a daycare and playschool and was a troop leader with the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America in previous years. Mrs. Bivins was a member of Cheek Memorial Baptist Church in Americus.

Mrs. Bivins is survived by her husband, Stanley Bivins; one daughter and son in law, Sharon and Jim McFather of Ellaville; four sons and three daughter in laws, Stan Bivins of Plains, GA, Bruce and Vicki Bivins of Americus, GA, Walter and Betty Bivins of Ellaville, and Roger and Sheila Bivins of Ellaville; three brothers and two sister in laws, David and Wynelle Summerlin, Donald and Sandra Summerlin, and Steve Summerlin. Nine grandchildren, Jim David McFather, Anne Marie McFather, Nicole Bivins, Jake Bivins, Megan Bivins, Madison Bivins, Christian Bivins, Trent Bivins, Logan Blanton and two great grandchildren also survive.

Pallbearers will include Pat Spann, Ronnie Greer, Milton Cashwell, Pete Yarbrough, Al Eason, and Bill McGowan. Visitation will be held Monday, Aug 2, 2010 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home.

Watson-Giddens Funeral Home of Ellaville, GA is in charge of arrangements.
