Thaddeus LaFoy Stephens

ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mr. Thaddeus LaFoy “T. L.” Stephens, age 77, died Monday, September 30, 2013 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, GA.  A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 6:00PM in the chapel of Watson-Giddens Funeral Home.  Pastor Will Rayburn will officiate.

      Mr. Stephens was born May 20, 1936 in Greenville, SC, the son of Joseph and Eddie Lou Stephens.  He was owner of Trailer Relocators, Inc. Mr. Stephens was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Okeechobee, FL and Ebenezer Baptist Church.  He loved boating and the water.

     Mr. Stephens is survived by his wife, Ruthie Stephens of Okeechobee, FL; two sons, Rick Stephens and wife Joy of Ellaville, Chris Hudson currently serving in Afghanistan; one daughter, Heather Holley and husband Jonathan of Indiantown, FL; one brother, Richard Stephens of Greenville, SC; and one sister, Joyce Evans and husband Curtis of Tyler, TX.  Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Rick Stephens Jr. and wife Christie, Joseph Stephens and fiancée Rachael, Jeremy Stephens, Rebecca Royal and husband Zack, Luke Holley, Cole Hudson, Ryland Hudson, Leslie Holley and two great grandchildren, Madeline Stephens and Rylee Stephens.  Mr. Stephens was preceded in death by his parents.
