Tom Wyrick

Mr. James Thomas “Tom” Wyrick, 86, of Mauk, GA, passed away on August 29, 2024, at Taylor County Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at Spring Hill Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Fuller officiating. Music will be provided by his grandson, Silas Fuller. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Rick Bentley, Chris Morgan, Fred Williams, Mike Wyrick, Keith Wyrick, and Kyle Wyrick. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Saturday, August 31, 2024, from 5:00-7:00PM.

Mr. Wyrick was born in Marion County, GA, to Fred Thomas and Mary Wess Tyler Wyrick. A member of Spring Hill Freewill Baptist Church, he was an ordained deacon. He was drafted during the Korean Conflict and served in the United States Army. Mr. Wyrick was a fan of Atlanta Braves baseball and Georgia Bulldogs football. He retired from Blue Bird Body Co. after 39 years in the stock room as a stocker. Mr. Wyrick loved his family and was very involved in his grandchildren’s events. He enjoyed attending gospel singings and church as well as hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Hank Wyrick, and sister, Betty Wyrick White. 

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Diane Daniel Wyrick of Mauk, GA; by a son, Todd and Jenni Barnes Wyrick of Mauk, GA; a daughter, April and Brian Fuller of Upatoi, GA; three brothers, Bill and Gayle Wyrick of Mauk, GA, Ronald Wyrick of Columbus, GA, and Jack Wyrick of Mauk, GA; and a sister, Dianne Morgan of Buena Vista, GA; grandchildren, Silas Fuller and Clara Fuller of Upatoi, GA, and Ila Wyrick of Mauk, GA. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
