Tommy Lee Welch

ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mr. Tommy Lee Welch, age52, of 422 Hayes Avenue, Ellaville, GA died Friday, June 12, 2009 as a result of an automobile accident. Services will be held Sunday June 14, 2009 at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Watson-Giddens Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Mt Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Raymond Smith will officiate.
Mr. Welch was born April 27, 1957 in Sumter County the son of Sally Ruth Thompson Welch and the late Clarence Arthur Welch, Sr. He had been a truck driver for Golden Flake and was a member of Ellaville Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include one son and daughter in law, Randal and Crystal Welch of Ellaville, one daughter Amanda Castleberry of Ellaville, three brothers and sisters in law, Clarence and Melba Welch of Ellaville, GA, Linton and Carolyn Welch of Americus, GA, Robbie and Bobbie Welch of Americus, GA, one sister and brother in law, Arlene and Jimmy Byrd of Ellaville, GA and one granddaughter, Dunlie Castleberry. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Pallbearers will include Jimmy Scott, Dwayne Register, Joe McElroy, Mark Bass, Jason Welch, and Charles Hagler. Honorary pallbearers will include William Wright, Brion Newcomb, Charles McElroy and Tim Chavers.
Visitation will be held Saturday, June 13, 2009 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home.
