Mrs. Virginia Blackston Gomillion, 95, of Butler, passed away on August 1, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital. Graveside services will be held at Pine Level Cemetery in Mauk on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Kevin Hobbs officiating. There will be no formal visitation but Mrs. Gomillion will be available for viewing to friends and family at Way-Watson Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 4, 2020.
Mrs. Gomillion was born May 2, 1925 to the late Moley and Missouri Pike Blackston in Taylor County, GA. She was a member of Butler United Methodist Church. Mrs. Gomillion loved life and doing anything outdoors, especially fishing, camping and gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James T. Gomillion, Sr.; two children, Geraldine Watson and Milton Watson; and four brothers, Leonard Blackston, Loren Blackston, Earl Blackston, and Cecil Blackston.
Survivors include her children, William Watson of Howard, GA, Douglas Watson and his wife, Glenda of Mauk, GA, Bobby Watson and his wife, Pam of Howard, GA, Terry Watson and his wife, June of Cataula, GA, and Cheryl Ray and her husband, Wayne of Tazewell, GA; two sisters, Doris Wells and Pauline Newsome; six grandchildren, Tracy Watson (Donna), Jeff Watson (Mindy), Clint Watson (Shannon), Starlet Davis (Danny), Jason Watson (Edna), and Jonathon Watson; six great-grandchildren, Gunner, Bre, Jasmine, Hannah, Tamara and Logan; and several nieces and nephews.
