Voncile Phillips French, 92, of Buena Vista, GA, died Thursday, December 28, 2017, at Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center in Americus, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Union United Methodist Church with Reverend David Chapman officiating.
Ms. French was born October 20, 1925, in Marion County, GA, to Archie Preston and Annie Belle Tyler Phillips, Sr. A member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, she was a Sunday School teacher and pianist. She was employed at Marion Memorial Hospital for about 10 years as a posting clerk. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Norton French, her daughter, June F. Drude, two brothers, Herbert Phillips and Mack Phillips, and four sisters, Nadine Quarterman, Archie Foster, Imogene Bray, and Louise Blyth.
She is survived by a son, Philip E. French of Buena Vista, GA; a brother, Preston and Faye Phillips of Birmingham, AL; by a sister and a brother-in-law, Sybil and Jimmy Roberts of Ft. Myers, FL; by a grandson, Shannon French of Buena Vista, GA; and a great-grandson, Chase French. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Watson-Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia, is in charge of these arrangements.
