Walter Edwin Lawhorn, age 65, of Buena Vista, GA, died Sunday, January 11, 2015, at Phoebe-Putney Hospital in Albany, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, in the Chapel of Watson-Tante Funeral Home with Reverend William Hall and Reverend Chris Hess officiating. Burial will follow the service in Buena Vista Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
Mr. Lawhorn was born November 29, 1949, in Sumter County, GA, to John Lum and Mae Bradley Lawhorn. He was self-employed as a contractor. He had a large extended family and loved spending time with them as well as animals. He was preceded in death by his parents, by a brother-in-law, Earl Sams, and by his dog, Aggie.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Lawhorn of Buena Vista, GA; by two daughters, Marcy Tillman and Dan Jones of Buena Vista, GA, and Nikki and Martin Still of Ellaville, GA; by a brother, John and Diane Lawhorn of Americus, GA; by three sisters, Gail Sams of Columbus, GA, Donna Jean and Edward Cross of Columbus, GA, and Stacy and Bruce Burns of Orange Park, FL; six grandchildren, Jordan Tillman, Dillon Still, David Still, Mary Kate Still, Austin Jones and Alex Jones; an ex-son-in-law, Gentry Tillman and a large extended family including many nieces and nephews.
