William (Billy) H. Meeks

ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mr. William H. (Billy) Meeks, age 57, of Ellaville, GA died Friday evening, January 27, 2012 at Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center in Americus, GA. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 2:00PM at Ebenezer Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Bryan Bentley, Rev. Clyde Grimsley, Rev. Robert Orr and Rev. Andy Taunton will officiate.

Mr. Meeks was born July 31, 1954 in Sumter County, GA, the son of William Willis Meeks of Richland, GA and the late Gloria Ann Ferrell Meeks. He was retired from Cooper Lighting. Mr. Meeks was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

Mr. Meeks in addition to his father is survived by his wife, Marcia Fussell Meeks; four daughters, Gwendolyn Kelley and husband Timmy of Ellaville, Melisia Jordan of Americus, GA, Jessica Nobles of Plains, GA, Wanda Thomas and husband Charlie of Plains, GA; one son, Maxwell Kelley of Ellaville; three brothers, Michael Meeks of Ellaville, GA, Johnny Meeks of Gray, GA, David Meeks of Macon, GA; one sister, Mary Ann Norman and companion Junior Harrison of Americus, GA. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, William Kelley, Steven Edwards, Corey Jordan, T C Hood Sr., Deven Nobles, Logan Sechrist, Bradley Pritchard, Amanda Hood, Cassie Jordan, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers will include William Kelley, Steven Edwards, Corey Jordan, T C Hood Sr., Deven Nobles, Logan Sechrist, Bradley Pritchard and Tony Peavy. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 30, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home in Ellaville. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Billy Meeks Benefit Fund at Central Bank of Georgia in Ellaville, Ga.
