William Eugene "Gene" Fincher

Mr. William Eugene “Gene” Fincher of Ozark, AL, originally from Ladonia, AL, age 67, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2015.  Funeral services will be held at Watson-Tante Funeral Home on Monday December 28, 2015 at 2:00PM with Rev. A. R. Curlee officiating.  The family will greet friends from 1:00 until 2:00 at Watson-Tante Funeral Home prior to the service on Monday.

Mr. Fincher was born on June  2, 1948 to the late Jesse Curtis Fincher and Nellie Faye Summerlin Fincher.  Mr. Fincher was employed by Walmart Distribution Center in Brundidge, AL since 2003, previously he was employed by Eufaula Adolescent Center, Eufaula, AL and Phenix City Fire Department as An EMS and Ladonia Volunteer Fire Department, and with his dad at White Rock Super Market in Ladonia, AL.  Mr. Fincher loved water skiing and competed frequently in tournaments winning in the jumping, slalom and trick events.  He loved boating and the beach.  He competed in car shows and won many awards for his cars and vans.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Mary Wright Fincher, two daughters , Terri Gale Fincher Register (Noel) of Mauk, GA and April Jo Fincher Campbell of Williamsville, MS, one son, David Eugene Fincher (Shannon) of Garner, NC, five grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, two stepdaughters, Sandy Wright Bassett (Edmond) of Ellaville, GA, Becky Wright Leski (Mark), of Murphy, NC, two stepsons, Steve Wright of Oglethorpe, GA and Mike Wright, of Oakland, GA, 14 step grandchildren, two sisters, Beverly Fincher Redmon ( Danny) of Phenix City, AL, Barbara Fincher Parmer of Columbus, GA, aunt, Sue Summerlin Griffin of Columbus, GA.
