William (Willie) Thomas Welch

ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mr. William (Willie) Thomas Welch, age 59, of Ellaville, GA died late Wednesday evening, November 3, 2010 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 11:00AM at Ebenezer Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Bryan Bentley, Rev. Clyde Grimsley and Rev. Robert Orr will officiate.
Mr. Welch was born July 10, 1951 in Sumter County, GA, the son of Kathleen Jones Welch and James L. Welch. He was employed by Frito-Lay, Inc. for 17 years. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Mr. Welch is survived by his wife, Cheryl Johnson Welch; one brother, Jim Welch of Ellaville, GA; two sisters, Myra Grimsley and husband Clyde of Ellaville, Patsy Stewart and husband Roy of Buena Vista, GA. Also surviving are godchildren, Jessica Phillips, Kenny Peek, Kris Peek, Kurtis Peek and several nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will include Calvin Welch, Steve Summerlin, Grady Hewitt, Emory Hewitt, Henry Hewitt, and Robert Lee Johnson.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 5, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home in Ellaville.
